What I didn’t know about being NayNay, was everything. But the longer I live with this title and role, the more I learn about the goodness of God.
It hit me like a train the other day as I was texting and requesting pictures from Silas’ other Grandma. Jackie, is Rachel’s mama; she is the mother of all photos and sharer of pictures. It is a gift that blesses all who know her and are within her focused lens.
God Is Good To Us And Our Generations
We, the Grandmas of Silas, were texting and she was sending pictures of the great time they were having. I could see a beautiful round pregnant belly (of one of her daughter-in-laws ) with evidence there is another Grand on the way in their family. The picture of that pregnant belly made my heart leap for them. I commented on the picture, “I see that baby belly, God is good.” Jackie responded with, “God is good to us and our generations.”
Knowing And Experiencing God For Generations
That’s it!!! That’s what makes being a NayNay the best. It’s not JUST that have more kids to enjoy, it’s that we see God’s goodness to us and to our generations. We know God is good, we learn this and experience this in our lives over time of knowing Him and walking with Him. Then, we see Him being good to our kids and seeing our kids experience the goodness of God in their own lives and it fills our hearts with a double portion of His goodness. Then!!!! We begin to see our Grands experience God’s goodness and blessing, and it is the trifecta of GOODNESS.
Top Three Blessings of “Being”
The top three blessings of being me, mom, and grandma, is the blessing of knowing God is good to me, my kids, and grands. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
