I’ve been asked the same question several times, “What stood out the most on my trip to Uganda?”Strangely enough it’s the same thing that stands out to me as a theme in all of life right now. God is faithful always, and in areas of life where we join Him and what He is doing we enjoy fruit. Fruit doesn’t grow over night and we don’t learn how to make fruit, through hard work, and discipline, it’s something that God grows over time, in His faithfulness. Honestly there is fruit in the areas I’ve not been faithful, but I don’t enjoy it quite like I do the fruit that I participated in. Here’s the thing…. I’m over the halfway mark of life, and it’s a sweet place to be, because I can look back and see some things over my lifetime, that help determine where to go (and not go)and what to do (and not do)to make the rest of the journey fruitful. When I refer to areas where I have been faithful, (because there are a lot of areas I haven’t been) all I mean is where I have stayed in right relationship through good times and hard situations, there is growth and fruit that God just kept pointing out to me, in His faithfulness. It even began before the trip, I was given gifts and encouragement from people that I have walked with through all different stages and States in my life. Being faithful to what God calls us to, starting at home in our lives and everywhere we go from there, gives us the joy of seeing and being a part of what He is doing. His faithfulness isn’t dependent on anything I do or say, or where I go. God is faithful no matter what, it’s whether or not I join Him in faith and enjoy the fruit of it here and in heaven. The fruit of Faithfulness is what stands out to me on my trip to Uganda and on my journey in life.
