Never Ending Blessings In Laundry

Meet Moses. This man has a story and a life that will bring you to your knees. He travels through most of his day on his knees, because his legs do not hold him. In knowing Moses and how he moves in life; if there is a connection between getting on our knees, and living more like Moses, I’m hitting the floor. His story and life will humble and encourage you beyond this world and lifetime.

Heart of a Giant

I consider Moses a giant, and he might weigh 95 lbs soaking wet. It took two strong guys, to baptize him, because of the state of his body, but also the condition of his heart, it is huge, and full of goodness. His body may look broken, but his heart is big and strong it makes up for anything his physical body may lack. He works hard, with joy and determination. Obviously, he carries his heart inside his broken body, but it is all heart that drives him, pushes him, and takes him everywhere he wants to go.

Gratitude and Joy

When Charlie feels a little sore from work, or stressed about business, he thinks about Moses and the soreness and stress leave and are replaced with gratitude. Moses’ life and attitude have a way of bringing things back into perspective.

Moses has a lovely wife Eva, and five beautiful children.  Moses got a disease when he was a young man and it nearly took his life. It took the use of his legs, but didn’t take his zeal for life. He has not let his physical disabilities limit him in any way; it has only grown his faith, heart and character to giant status. Moses is never looking for a hand out, or sympathy, he is always looking for creative ways to work more efficiently to provide for his family.

Daily Bread And Laundry Too

Moses used to bake for work; he would bake and deliver bread daily.  He was great at that, but the daily demands of freshly baked bread can be challenging when you have to start from scratch every day to keep fresh bread going out to the dough coming in.  Daily work, in front of a hot fire that he had to build to bake the bread, was difficult. He was very thankful for the work, but his body was not as thankful.

In 2020 when the world was shutting down, Moses was gearing up for a new adventure. He reached out and asked if we could sponsor him to go to laundry soap making school.  Luke, our son, who was 18 at the time, heard about it and stepped up and felt like that was something the Lord would allow him to help with. Moses was so touched by the investment into his new business that he named it, Brewer Laundry . Each bar of soap is stamped with that name.

It’s interesting to me how the businesses that Moses has chosen to work, are both things that make life better for everyone else. The business he thrives in is making life taste, smell and feel more satisfying.

At soap school, Moses learned how to make soap and he purchased the equipment he needed to do it as a business. Last year, during out Uganda trip, it was inspiring to see the transition from baking all day in front of a hot open oven, to now working in a cleaner space with a power tool that is hooked up to a generator for mixing soap ingredients. Now, he can make the soap only a few days a week and keep up with the demand of selling the product, and he doesn’t have to do it all in one day, everyday.

Prayer and Soap

In preparation for our upcoming Uganda trip, we are praying and having conversation about what to give 1000 children that are enrolled in CSI schools throughout Uganda.  Carol Woody, the CSI Jaja, comes every year and takes care of the sponsorship of these children. She personally meets and greets and photographs each child. It is her work and her joy.

Our trip is overlapping with Carol’s and her and I have been in close contact about the details of our packing. We try to fit in as many good gifts to our Uganda friends and family; as much as the airline will allow. Through the packing process, we realized there is no room to fit 1000 of anything to give as a gift to these children.  Jaja Carol (jaja is Ugandan for Grandma) can not bear the thought of showing up without giving a gift to each child. When she thinks about one child, she thinks of 1000, each one is special to her.

Laundry Brings People Together

I can barely keep birthday gifts and the names of my own children straight most of the time, so i was at a loss from the beginning. As I was praying, and feeling at the end of my brain and suitcases capacity, I thought of laundry soap. Jesus usually does His best work in me, when I’m at the end of my own ideas, and up to my eyeballs in laundry. As I’m praying and thinking about laundry it all comes together. Getting laundry done is a great way to bless a family, whether you are from Uganda, America or Tin Buck Two. Dirty laundry is a world wide problem. Laundry, does not keep you alive, but left undone, it can eat you alive. Fresh laundry makes everyone feel and smell better.

Standing on My Soap Box

Through prayer, and piles of laundry it was clear the best gift for 1000 children, is to give them a big beautiful bar of laundry soap.  Laundry soap is necessary and also considered a luxury when times are tough and you may be feeling dirt poor.

I reached out to Moses and asked if he could have 1000 bars of soap ready when I get there?  He was thrilled at the opportunity to work extra hard and fill the order. He will make us 1000 bars of soap for $1000. I asked my gown kids if they want to sponsor the laundry campaign; I mean they have blessed me with laundry opportunites for years, so I figured I would return the favor. We decided to open up the chute for more people to get in on the laundry pile and we can sort it all out once it’s all gathered.

Throw Yours In The Pile

Laundry is always the gift that keeps on giving and in this case it is 1000 times true. Giving kids a simple bar of soap will be a blessing to the whole family. Isn’t that how God works. He is provides a desire to gift 1000 children and immediately multiplies it to 1000 families.

If you want to contribute to the pile of laundry blessings, without having to wash a thing, please comment or private message me, and I can add your gift to the pile.

I have attached 2 links from my old blog where I shared about Moses, if you want more of his story.

This is us

Hi!

Daughter, sister, wife, mom, Gma, and friend is what I bring to the table.  There is only one, I AM, and it isn’t me. Jesus is His name and He lives in me and works in all that I AM, and all that I am not. Our work together looks like laundry, and sometimes we dance.  He cleans up all the messes and He is who I follow, in the dance of life.  My name is Jenay and I’m glad you stopped by.
