Philippians 3:10 – Knowing Christ 2.) Knowing Christ is to know suffering and loss. When Christ came to us in the flesh He left the comfort and glory and peace of heaven. He came to a poor family that struggled, worked hard and was on the run. He gave up everything even before He gave up His life on the cross. He gave it all up to live the life we couldn’t and die the death we deserved. He gave up His righteousness and gave it to us to have through faith in Him. Paul said in Philippians 3:7-8 (paraphrasing) whatever gain he had in this world he considered loss and a pile of poo for the sake and value of knowing Christ. May we see everything in this life, our money, our education, our status, our work, our comforts as loss and crap compared to the gain of giving it all up for the sake of Christ and knowing Him. He is worthy and He is worth it!
