Here I Am!

Eyes that have been opened and seen, and lips that have tasted the goodness of God; can’t go back the way we once knew; before we saw and before we tasted.  Once you have had an encounter with Jesus, you can’t go back the way you came, you can’t go back to the way you once were.  When God shows up and shows us something about Himself; we are entrusted with that knowledge, insight, and goodness.

If we choose to turn a blind eye and ignore what we have seen and know about God, we will live wandering in lonely desert places.  It’s the most loving kindness of our Father in heaven to draw us in and show us more of who He is.  With that invitation comes a responsibility to respond.  We can ignore the invite, or we can show up and see what He has for us to know and to do.

In Exodus 3:4 when the Lord saw that he (Moses) turned aside to see (the burning bush in the desert). God called to him out of the bush, “Moses! Moses!”  When God knows we have seen, He calls us out, He calls us closer. We can ignore Him or we can say, like Moses, “Here I am.”

Exodus 3:5 “Do not come closer,” he (God) said. “Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”

God Knows What You Have Seen

God gets our attention and then notices when we notice what He is doing.  Like Moses, He draws us close, but not so close that we are consumed, and can’t handle the heat.  He tells Moses to get barefooted and close enough to feel the holy heat of the moment.  Moses came in with curiosity and God drew him closer; called him by his name, and told him to stand humble and vulnerable (that’s the picture of barefoot) to feel in his soul, the holy ground he stood on.

I Say, Here…God Says, I AM

I believe God draws us in, and he knows what we know, because He showed it to us.  He knows what we have seen.  We may approach with simple curiosity.  All that we need is a humble and open response.  We get to respond to God with, “ Here I am.”  God will give us an assignment, a purpose, and when we ask questions, all He says is, I AM…which leaves us with one word, HERE!!!  Moses responded by saying, “Here I am,” and God responded by saying, “I AM.”   We say, “Here,”….God says, “I AM.”

When He calls us to something, anything….all we say is HERE!  He says I AM.

Not Heaven Or Hell

This isn’t heaven or hell. When He saved Moses, and when He saved us, we can’t screw that up, it’s a done deal.  He’s better than our mess-ups and greater than our best efforts. This is Holy be your name, your  kingdom come and God’s will be done.  We can wander in the desert and act like we don’t see or notice God or anything He is doing.  Or, we can get really curious, get closer, feel the holy heat, stand humbly, before God and say, “Here I am.”  God’s response to him was an amazing assignment of purpose and friendship.

This is us

Hi!

Daughter, sister, wife, mom, Gma, and friend is what I bring to the table.  There is only one, I AM, and it isn’t me. Jesus is His name and He lives in me and works in all that I AM, and all that I am not. Our work together looks like laundry, and sometimes we dance.  He cleans up all the messes and He is who I follow, in the dance of life.  My name is Jenay and I’m glad you stopped by.
