God, Is Good For All Generations

I hear people say they fear what our world will be like for the upcoming generations. I understand what is being said, but it seems so unfair to our kids and grandkids.

People talk about the coming of the Lord, not because they long to be with Him now and forever, but because they want out of this mess of a world and feel it’s all beyond redemption. We can easily get fixated on the world and the problems we see and we forget to fix our eyes on Jesus and the hope we have in Him for ALL generations.

Preparing For The Worst, Or A Feast

We seem to be preparing for ourselves and our kids for the worst of the world rather than preparing for a wedding feast and a beautiful reunion with our Savior.  I do believe He is coming back, because His word says so, but He comes back as Faithful and True. He does not begin to live up to his name on that day, He has been the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is Faithful and True right now.  The  Bible talks about the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to spell out that He is Faithful and True for all generations.

All Generations Trusting God With All Generations

The challenge for me and the generations older than me, is to trust the same God that has been faithful to us, our whole lives, will be faithful to the coming generations. I find it’s easier to trust him for myself, but to trust him for the next generations takes a deeper faith. God doesn’t stop being faithful when the world gets crazy. The same faithful God who cares about us and has taken care of us will be faithful and good to the upcoming generations, and forever. God is not controlled by the world, He holds the world in His hands.

The World Is Crazy, and God Is Faithful

The world is getting crazier in so many ways and I believe that is all the more reason to remind our kids and grandkids of the faithfulness of our God.  Rather than telling them about the good old days, tell them about the goodness of God and how they will see the same, faithfulness and goodness of God in their lives no matter how crazy the world gets, God never changes.

Can We Outlive The Goodness of God?

With each grandkid added to our family, there is a part of me that lacks trust in God to continue to be good. He has already outdone all the goodness I can ever think or imagine. I somehow feel like we have outlived the goodness of God and he is done showing up. None of these thoughts and feelings are based on truth, it’s just the enemy instilling fear. I don’t think about these things consciously, but I have found myself holding my breath and living in fear, in tense situations.

I Believe, Help My Unbelief

I have repented and confessed to God that I don’t fully trust Him. Oh God, I believe, help my unbelief.  I have seen and experienced God’s faithfulness, true and constant in our lives.  With these new babies and young kids it takes growing faith, and stretches my faith and trust  beyond what I ever thought possible.   God’s not mad about my lack of faith and He is not going to cater to my fear either. He is going to continue to be faithful , because that is who He is.  He also commands me to trust Him.  He doesn’t adjust to my fears and lack of anything, He shows me who He is, He provides everything I need.  I can adjust to Him and live wide open  in thanksgiving and freedom, or I can close down and live in fear.

The key is not how long we have walked with God and how much we have learned to trust Him and love Him, we can always surrender more to God  and grow in faith, trusting Him more and more.  The grandkids do this for me, they stretch me into new territory and bigger faith. I have great hope for the coming generations.  I see God’s promises and His goodness and His faithfulness to all generations. He didn’t stop with the good ‘old days, He was just getting started with us.

Psalm 100:5  For the Lord is good, and his faithful love endures forever;

his faithfulness, through all generations.

This is us

Hi!

Daughter, sister, wife, mom, Gma, and friend is what I bring to the table.  There is only one, I AM, and it isn’t me. Jesus is His name and He lives in me and works in all that I AM, and all that I am not. Our work together looks like laundry, and sometimes we dance.  He cleans up all the messes and He is who I follow, in the dance of life.  My name is Jenay and I’m glad you stopped by.
