Can We Add Socks To The Feeling Wheel

During worship, I asked the Lord to let me know, that He sees me.  Knowing His word says it, is comforting, but I wanted to feel it in a very personal way.  The real bummer was, I didn’t even have any ‘good ideas’ to share with Him on how to make me feel seen.  That may sound silly, but when I’m not feeling loved, I don’t trust God to know what I need and I don’t trust myself to notice when He does.

Feeling Blah, Like Socks

I prayed that prayer because I have felt blah lately.  The only way I can think to describle it, is socks.  I have felt like socks;  I guess you could say I have a socky feeling. Is that on the feelings chart?  It’s not about any person, or circumstance, it’s just a blah feeling that stinks like dirty socks.

Praying to God seemed like the only option, because I know enough to know, He is the only one that can see inside my heart and fill the hole I was feeling.  I couldn’t even identify what the blah was about, or where it was coming from.

Socks seem like the right fit to describe the way I was feeling. They are  pretty insignificant and yet necessary, oftentimes.  Socks are not the first thing we ever think about, for any occasion.  We don’t plan events or outfits around socks.  It can be  annoying to look for socks or find their match, and around here we rarely wear matching ones. We easily lose track of our socks.  Everyone can relate to being bummed when our socks get holes or have issues we need to deal with.

Socks Don’t Fit Fancy Or Beaches

Most of the time, socks aren’t needed for good times. They aren’t needed  for fancy occasions or walks on the beach. For dirty work and certain shoes, or feet warming, socks become important.

Throwing socks in the travel bag is always park of packing. Socks make us more comfortable and prepared, but they will never be highlighted or credited for the part they play in our life.

God Hears Me and Sees Me

As I was feeling socky, and praying from a blah heart, the Lord heard me.  He answered me personally and specifically throughout the entire rest of the day. The church service spoke deeply and  personally to my soul. The Lord used His word preached, in His gathering, on His day to show me that He sees me. He hears me. He answered me sweetly and personally and quickly.

God is not annoyed by my blahness,  or my holes.

God blesses my socks clean off!!!!!

This is us

Hi!

Daughter, sister, wife, mom, Gma, and friend is what I bring to the table.  There is only one, I AM, and it isn’t me. Jesus is His name and He lives in me and works in all that I AM, and all that I am not. Our work together looks like laundry, and sometimes we dance.  He cleans up all the messes and He is who I follow, in the dance of life.  My name is Jenay and I’m glad you stopped by.
